Josh and I have been friends since high school. While Josh would say it was love at first sight, I would say otherwise. I was firm when I frequently told him I would never touch him with a 10-foot pole. After eleven years of persistence, Josh finally got ME to ask him to be my boyfriend in June of 2020 on the rooftop of Tootsies in downtown Nashville.

I popped the question on a family vacation in Scottsdale, Arizona in March of 2021. Initially, I had planned out a hot air balloon ride for us in Arizona. But of course, nothing can ever be easy for the two of us. I had to wait 12 years to start dating the love of my life, and the rain made me wait an extra day to propose. After scrambling to come up with any sort of back up plan, I decided to get Riley's parents involved. We went to this lovely restaurant as a family and I had to drink almost a bottle of wine to stop the nerves. When I proposed, I got 25 seconds of shock and confusion given to me from Riley instead of the "Yes" I was looking for. When she realized the engagement was real, she said yes and made me feel like the best version of me I have ever been.
