Dress Code

Formal Attire: this is an evening formal event. Gentlemen are invited to wear a tuxedo or dark colored suit with tie and dress shoes. Ladies are invited to wear floor-length gowns or refined formal attire, including elegant pantsuits. All guests are encouraged to wear dark colors to match the theme and wedding party! Please see the above photo for some inspiration!

Please mail in the physical RSVP card included with your paper invite for our final headcount, even if you have already responded to the preliminary virtual RSVP. RSVP cards not received by 5/15/2026 will be counted as "regretfully unable to attend".

Getting There & Parking

Answer

Guests should utilize valet parking at the Park Hyatt Aviara. Please just let the valet know that you are here for the Shoden Wedding and your valet cost will be taken care of. We advise planning extra time to arrive and enjoy the view, as traffic along the coast can be very unpredictable.

Upon arrival, guests will be guided from the lobby to the ceremony venue, and between the following cocktail hour and reception- indoor and outdoor all within the beautiful Park Hyatt Aviara grounds.

Cell Phone Usage

Answer

We ask that you do not use personal devices and place them on silent during the ceremony only- including cell phone photography, video, or posting to social media. Professional photographers will be present and capturing the moment for us, and we will make those memories available to you so you won't miss a thing! Feel free to bring them back out to take as many pictures as you'd like during the cocktail hour and reception, and add them to our hashtag #joshandrayesbigday so others can share in them too.
