Travel Note
Major airport is Vancouver International (YVR), with regional option in Abbotsford(YXX). Major airlines: Air Canada, United, Delta, WestJet. Highly recommend using Google flights to explore your options. If you are visiting with passports other than US or Canadian passports, it is likely you will need an Electronic Travel Authorization even if your passport allows for visa-free access. See for more details here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/eta/facts.html Since the pandemic, Canada has also been requiring all arrivals (even Canadians) to enter their information via ArriveCAN. See details here: https://www.canada.ca/en/border-services-agency/services/arrivecan.html
Travel Note
Public transit: Skytrain is very easy to use. Get yourself a Compass card and you can hop on buses, Seabus (really cool ride to see downtown Vancouver from the water), and the Skytrain. The Civic Hotel is directly connected to a Skytrain station. So is the YVR airport. Rideshare: Lyft is available. And of course the other one but why would you… Rental cars are also useful. Parking not too bad but traffic can be annoying during rush hour, especially over bridges. But very useful if you want to explore areas outside of the city!
Travel Note
Ours wedding events are in Surrey (suburb of Vancouver) where our parents live. The most convenient would be the Civic Hotel (same venue as where we are hosting the reception) - 4-star hotel and relatively inexpensive. We also have a 20% off discount code (code on Marriott.com: W14) Downtown Vancouver hotels are also good options if you want to explore Vancouver during your travels, though you may need to factor in approximately 1-hour travel time for Surrey events. White Rock Airbnb may also be good options, although public transit is less accessible.
