Our Story

What started as a simple Sunday at church turned into something neither of them expected. Raven and Joshua met at Right Way Christian Center in Mobile, Alabama, a reminder that God’s timing is always intentional. Raven had been a member for years, while Joshua had just moved back home searching for a church. About seven weeks later, on Father’s Day, their paths finally crossed after service. Although Joshua believed he made the first move, Raven had already noticed him during worship, she just hadn’t said anything yet. That same day, as it began to rain, Joshua walked Raven to her car under an umbrella, even though his own car was across the parking lot. What started as a kind gesture turned into a conversation that led to an unexpected first date at CiCi’s Pizza. They even took a picture that day, not realizing it would mark the beginning of their story. By Thanksgiving, their connection had grown into something deeper. When someone asked about Raven, Joshua quickly responded, “She’s with me,” a simple moment that made everything clear. From the beginning, they have balanced each other beautifully. Raven is the calm to Joshua’s storm. She brings peace, he brings energy, and together they continue to grow in love, patience, and faith. For the proposal, Joshua planned what Raven thought was just a birthday dinner, with the help of family and friends. As she walked in to a room full of “surprise,” she froze, still unaware of what was about to happen. When she turned around, Joshua was on one knee, expressing his love in front of those closest to them. It was a moment filled with love, gratitude, and a reminder of how far God had brought them. They cherish the simple things most, quality time, traveling, and intentional date nights. As they step into this next chapter, they remain rooted in faith and excited to celebrate their love with those around them. “He has made everything beautiful in its time.” – Ecclesiastes 3:11
