Lynette and I met online. After a couple months of talking regularly for a few hours each night ( or close to that), we agreed to meet. It was a really nice, October morning...not too cold, but also not still warm...perfect Autumn weather. We met in the front parking lot of one of the middle schools...being a Saturday, nobody else was present, but myself. We had conversed so extensively, and had seen pictures, so there had already been feelings developing, nor were there going to be any major surprises...but Lynette had had her hair done special for the occasion, and looked lovely. We had planned a day at the zoo, in the Twin Cities. As I said, since the weather was ideal, it was just a great place to visit, to enjoy. oth the animals, as well as each other's company. We had a great day, but as we approached Rochester, Lynette had learned that a certain canine had escaped, and could not be found. Since, she was worried about Lulu,(her dog), it seemed like our pleasant day was going to be cut a bit short, at least as far as our evening was concerned. However, I said, that if she didn't mind I would go home with her, and help her look for her dog...I could go back to my home the next morning. She was surprised, and seemed touched that I would make such an offer. and so we went to Postville, and met Lois and Richard. We also searched late at night...around 10:30-11:00pm, where I also was introduced to a dog that looked like a baby bear, (Thor), and a bunch of nettles. We did not find Lulu, nor did we find her the next morning, as we searched through the Thor-ploppied cornfields, but this WAS the formation of the mortar which bonded Lynette and I together, and has continued to strengthen these almost five years later. It also, is why Lynette gives Lulu credit for bringing us together...but I leave each of you reading this to form your own opinions about that. the Regardless, each October 16th, we fondly remember that day, and are grateful for that beginning, and what it has become. Oh, and Lulu gets a special treat, as a ".thank you", as well from Lynette. I never spoil that dog. 😏😉
