Years ago, a young boy named Josh had a series of strange dreams about a dark-haired woman in a red cocktail dress. He couldn’t see her face, but he knew that he loved her. In his early 20s, the dreams stopped. Around that time, a dark-haired girl, Liz, bought a red cocktail dress. It stayed in the back of her closet for years, never worn. Eventually, she moved from SC to Josh’s hometown in MD. Josh was unlucky in love, so he poured himself into work and became a corrections officer. Liz on the other hand, married a teacher named Sean and had a baby boy, Michael. Sean was obsessed with numerology and number patterns, though she secretly thought that was nuts. In January 2018, Josh prayed an anguished prayer in the parking lot of his jail. He asked the Lord to send him his soulmate because he was tired of waiting. That same month, Liz & Sean were in the hospital hearing terrible news: Sean had had terminal cancer for years without realizing it. They started chemo immediately. Liz then had a weird experience with numbers herself. She started seeing “111”everywhere—clocks, license plates, receipts. Sean fought bravely for 16 months. Before he died, he told Liz “I don’t want you to be alone. I want you to find someone who loves you & Michael and get married again.” Liz was young & lonely. (And still seeing 111 everywhere.) After Sean’s death, she started dating again, met Josh on Christian Mingle and eventually fell in love. He developed a very special relationship with little Michael who wanted to be a police officer just like him. One day, he told her about his strange boyhood dreams, and she told him about the red cocktail dress in her closet that she had never worn. She put on the dress for him and he recognized the girl from his dreams. Josh proposed on Valentine’s Day 2021. Liz wanted a fall wedding, he only had certain days off at jail, and the venue they wanted was booked on other days. That left November 1. Which she then realized...was 11.1.
