2020 was a wild time for everyone... Joshua and Kendall included! Kendall was in Beijing China teaching English at the beginning of 2020, and came back to the United States due to the new Covid-19 outbreak. Instead of moving back to Orlando FL, she decided to move to Marietta GA to grow new roots and be closer to family. Joshua was living in Smyrna GA around this time, living with one of his best friends, Anthony Swieter. Josh and Kendall found each other and hit it off with some great conversation. They met up at The Corner Taqueria, local Mexican restaurant in Smyrna for their first date. The date lasted until about 2am, with the conversation never really taking a lull. They shared music playlists, life stories, and and ideas for their futures. The date ended with a sweet kiss and loving goodbyes, with many more dates to come.

After their first date, the world shifted into a lockdown. Restaurants were closing, work-from-home lifestyle began, and quarantine measures were put in place. This posed the question… do they continue to see each other and date? What did dating look like in a quarantined world? Josh and Kendall weren’t even serious yet, just one date in! Do they could quarantine for two weeks and try to date again…. right? Wrong! Kendall and Josh both loved their time spent together, they decided to quarantine together. With all the traditional “date” ideas unavailable, the two had to get creative on how to enjoy their time within the same four walls. They discovered the drama-documentary “Tiger King” together and developed a bias towards Carole Baskin, hosted their own Toaster Strudel competition (blueberry is the clear winner), and explored new cooking and baking adventures. Dating in quarantine meant focusing more on the person themselves, and not allowing for distractions that other dating environments introduced. Not the traditional dating procedures, but it was a perfect start to their journey as a couple on the road to “I do”

For months, Kendall and Josh had been planning a cruise with Kendall’s family. Life was crazy, and we were all looking for a grand vacation together. Little did Kendall know, Josh had plans to make it EXTRA special… February 22nd, 2022 we started the day with an amazing brunch on board the ship at Remy’s. From there, Josh and Kendall took a trip to the back of the boat to admire the views and enjoy the peace and quiet. “There’s been a question I’ve had for a long time and it just can’t wait anymore,” Josh got down on one knee and asked, “Kendall Montie will you marry me?” And after freaking out… she said yes!
