Palmetto Carriage offers carriage rides dedicated to helping locals and visitors alike have an incredible exploration experience in Charleston. We loved the tour along the Battery!
Sullivan's Island Beach is a great beach option close to downtown. Free street parking is available throughout the island, but fills fast so head out early if you want a spot!
If you love oysters or you're feeling adventurous, we recommend Leon's! It's conveniently located on King Street downtown with both indoor and outdoor seating. The char-grilled oysters with hot honey sauce are our favorite!
For some classic Southern cuisine, we recommend Poogan's Porch. Housed in a beautifully restored Victorian home, the restaurant is steeped in Lowcountry tradition. Due to its popularity, we suggest making a reservation. This was the first restaurant we tried after moving to Charleston!
The waterfront destination at Shem Creek (right over the bridge to Mount Pleasant) is a local favorite with unique restaurants and gorgeous views of the Charleston Harbor and surrounding marshes. We recommend dining at Sunsets (the sushi is our favorite) or Saltwater Cowboy!
Home Team is our favorite for all things BBQ! The downtown location offers a great outdoor area with plenty of tvs for all your college football needs. Go Buckeyes!
Play a round of golf at the Dunes West Golf Course!
For all you history buffs, we recommend visiting Patriots Point. Admission includes the USS Yorktown, USS Laffey, the Vietnam Experience Exhibit, and the Medal of Honor Museum.
King Street offers a wide variety of stores—from luxury fashion brands and national retailers to small local boutiques and antique shops. The street is lined with historic pastel buildings and brick storefronts, creating a charming atmosphere where visitors can walk between shops, cafés, and galleries.
