How It Started

"Yeah that blonde in the front is pretty cute!"

I'll never forget the first night we met. Josh was a junior on the football team and I was a freshman on the soccer team, so we were both at school early for preseason. I remember seeing this cute guy wearing a goofy green Kool-Aid man shirt, who later on in the night, had a friend come talk to me on his behalf, telling me who he was and saying he was shy! He eventually introduced himself. He was adorable, but I assumed he was bad news, so I showed no interest. My friends and I left that night without talking to him again. He started liking and unliking all of my pictures on Instagram. He even passive-aggressively yelled at me while I was in study hall one day while he passed by saying, "Yeah that blonde in the front is pretty cute!" Eventually I messaged him on Instagram asking if he was ever going to man up and ask me out! -Gabby I first saw Gabby when my friends and I were attending a party after the conclusion of our fall training camp for football. I noticed these three girls that were all wearing red and white striped shirts talking and laughing about 20 feet away. The one that I couldn't take my eyes off of was this extremely beautiful blonde that somehow couldn't take her eyes off of me either. After a couple minutes of trading glances I went up and we exchanged small talk before going our separate ways. I couldn't seem to get her out of my mind after that party and started liking all of her pictures on social media to try and get her attention. Not only did I like every single one of her pictures but I walked past her one time saying "that blonde in the front is really cute!!". After a while I guess she got tired of my antics and decided to message me. My master plan unfolded exactly how I had originally planned and look at us now! -Josh

The Proposal

It was breath taking, literally, because I was out of breath after trekking through the snow.

I was was visiting Josh in Salt Lake City for my spring break while Josh was playing football there and he suggested that we go take pictures in the mountains. When we got there, there was 10 feet of snow piled up everywhere. When we got out of the car, the guys started for the giant snow mound that was separating the parking lot from the lake on the other side. I took one look at it and said "alright I'm not going up there, let me know how it is", but eventually they convinced me to follow. On the other side was a beautiful, frozen, snow covered lake with a gorgeous mountain back drop. Josh told me to look at the mountains and he would take a picture of me. I was doing a funny pose and laughing at myself when I turned around to him on one knee! It was the most perfect proposal! -Gabby Gabby was visiting me in Salt Lake City while I was playing in the AAF. I had planned out the entire thing in my head for weeks. We were going to go out on this beautiful dock on a lake beneath a snow covered mountain. It was going to be the perfect proposal until we got to the lake and discovered that it was covered in 10 feet of snow. The entire lake was frozen and had been turned into a cross country skiing course for the winter. There was no way I was going to let a little snow get in my way of asking the love of my life to spend the rest of our lives together so I improvised. Our plan was to take pictures so I still played along with that idea. Gabby didn't want to come originally but I convinced her to come see the view. Once we got into the middle of the lake with the perfect back drop I told her to pose for a picture while my friend took a video of us. Little did she know when she turned around to look at me I was down on my knee ready to ask her the most important question I had ever asked anyone. Gabby prides herself on always knowing what to expect, but I pride myself on always being one step ahead of her which luckily, in this case, I was. -Josh
