we decided on forever

Our story begins in 1993(ish) with two hardworking mamas, when Tank and I were both just 8 years old. I became best friends with his sister and he with my older brother. We shared one kiss and a mild flirtation over the years, but it wasn’t until our early 20’s (circa 2007-ish) that anything romantic ever came about! All of a sudden the shy, sweet little boy I grew up with was looking preeety good! I was head over heels, but we were both heading down separate paths and eventually it fizzled out. Fast forward 17 years later-I’m still besties with his sister (Amanderin 4ever) and on my trips home we get together to catch up. She keeps mentioning Tank. How great he is doing and how I was “the one who got away”, and that she could totally see us working out! She’d even attempted a couple of meet-cutes for us, but they didn’t pan out. Eventually she got us in the same room for a birthday dinner-July 18th-the night before I headed back to work in Texas. We sat a couple chairs apart at the table, but talked like we were the only two people in the room-over, around, and through the people sitting with us. We went to leave and Tank was so nervous, he couldn’t even sign his name on the check! He got my number and after 17 years of nothing, we’ve talked every day since! After just 5 months of dating and 17 YEARS of the long game, he proposed with our favorite love song, in my favorite place, just me and him. We cannot wait to make our love official in front of all of our favorite people. The people who shaped us, encouraged us, championed us, and supported us through all of life’s ups and downs!
