If you wish to sightsee in DC during your stay, consider staying in Springfield, VA as it is closer into the city and will be cheaper and easier to Uber in to DC or use the Metro.
Ubers are available to ride to the wedding venue. But there may be a wait for them, so factor that into your commute time.
