Cynae and Josh officially began their relationship on July 2, 2022, when Josh planned their first date in Wichita, KS. They had dinner at 6S Steakhouse, grabbed frozen rolled ice cream, and watched Minions: The Rise of Gru in theaters. From there, the rest was history! They spent Cynae’s senior year and Josh’s fifth year of college practically attached at the hip. They loved supporting each other in their respective sports and soaking up every moment together before eventually transitioning to long distance for the remainder of that year. During that time, they also welcomed their dog, Max! After graduating from college, Cynae immediately began attending a physical therapy program while Josh continued working full-time. Over the next three years, Cynae and Josh only grew closer together. They went on trips that took them through several states—including Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, and New Mexico—creating core memories and plenty of adventures along the way. On November 15, 2025, Josh planned to propose to Cynae at her family farm located in South Haven. Leading up to the proposal, Josh spent numerous hours at the Wiley farm cleaning and decorating an old barn out in the pasture. To keep everything a surprise, Josh disguised the proposal as his “birthday dinner,” planning to take Cynae back to their first date restaurant—6S Steakhouse. After celebrating dinner together, they headed to the Wiley farm. Cynae was under the impression that they were simply stopping by to see her parents, just like any other day. When they arrived, they went inside the house where her parents were seated and talked for about ten minutes. Eventually, Cynae’s mom and dad insisted that she go turn the light off down in the old barn. After plenty of convincing from her family and Josh, she finally agreed. As Cynae and Josh began walking toward the old barn, Josh reached his hand out for hers. As they rounded the silos, it became clear that something special was about to happen. They approached the old barn, which was now filled with beautiful lights, flowers, signs, blankets, and an old tractor. It was there that Josh asked Cynae to marry him. Now, the couple is excitedly looking forward to celebrating their wedding on August 29, 2026!
