“...I will be glad in the Lord.” Psalm 104:34

The Story i never quite know how to start

Joshua & I were each other’s first friends. It was 1998, my family & i were in the states. Josh & I were in Sunday School together. Being 3, I dont have a whole heap of memories but I know we were best friends, and you can never forget a best friend. Fast forward to 2003. We had moved back to Australia and were visiting the States for a year. Lo and behold Josh & I are in the same school/church, with his mom as my art teacher. I have lots of memories of this time and would even venture to say that my seven year old self, fell in love. We spent a lot of time together, both in school and out. It was safe to say that, yet again, we were best friends. The year was over and we both remember crying as we said goodbye. Life happened and regardless of our best intentions, we didn’t stay in touch for very long. I think we all have someone whom we think about every so often and wonder how they are doing -that was us- nothing more, nothing less. You often wonder why you dont get in touch and yet dont actually do anything about it. Almost exactly 11 years later, something as cliche as facebook, brought us back into contact. Josh saw one of my posts via a mutual friend and decided to send me a friend request. I accepted and sent a message saying hey. The rest of our story consists of visits back and forth, career changes, moves and a lot of trying to work out which app makes the best overseas phone calls. It hasnt been easy and none of it would have been worth it if it wasn’t for that constant reminder that “...I will be glad in the Lord.” There have been moments where time & distance took everything out of our control. We’ve been asked on many occasions how we do it; the time, the expense the loyalty. Our answer alway boils down to the fact that it is both right & worth it. So that is our story. Thank you for being a part of our lives. Regardless of whether or not you can spend this special day with us, we appreciate the blessing you have been and will continue to be.
