Josh and Brandi met while he was attending Washington State University in Pullman, Washington studying Materials Chemistry as a graduate student. Brandi was busy at Lewis-Clark State College studying Chemistry and Earth Science to finish her Bachelors degrees. At the beginning of May 2018, with the use of Tinder, two chemists met to enjoy curry at Thai Taste and the Columbia River Basalts along the Snake River in Lewiston, Idaho. Since then, they have taken any chance to explore the areas around them and learn of the regional geology.
