About the Couple
Josh & Anna met in Berlin, Germany while working together at a non-profit. Josh had already been on the team for 7 months, originally moving from Utah. Anna arrived from Oregon. They shared leading team projects and navigating life in an international city for 6 months. Before they realized it, Anna had a week left until flying back home. On a warm July day at a quiet city park, Josh asked Anna out. He still had a year before returning home.
Josh & Anna decided to do something neither had ever imagined doing before - long distance. They dated apart for 10 months, with a 9 hour time difference and spotty Wi-Fi to connect them. They learned to navigate communication and to pursue each other thousands of miles apart.
After visiting Oregon over Christmas, Josh decided to make the second major move in two years, and came to be a part of Anna's community in Salem. The two continued to date (in-person!) for the summer, and in September 2025, Josh proposed. They dated a total of 14 months.
