Some love stories begin with romance, fancy dinners, or long walks on the beach. Ours began with prayer, patience, friendship, and God quietly writing a story neither of us could have planned on our own. Before we ever became “us,” there were people praying for us — family, friends, and our life group — asking God to lead us into something real, honest, and centered on Him. Through seasons of hurt, growth, and learning to trust God’s timing, He was preparing both of our hearts for something greater than we could see at the time. What started as intentional conversations quickly became something neither of us wanted to take for granted. We found comfort in each other’s hearts, peace in each other’s presence, and a shared desire to pursue a relationship built on faith, kindness, honesty, and Christ-like love. Joshua fell in love with Nikki’s gentle heart, her room brightening smile, her love for Jesus and the pursuit of a relationship with Him, the way she cares deeply for people, and the peace she brings wherever she goes. Nikki fell in love with Joshua’s steady and peaceful nature that was able to provide peace and stillness to her whenever they were together. Josh’s love for Jesus and care for every person they met strengthened the spark lit through his playful nature. Together, we have laughed, prayed together, dreamed about the future, and watched God move through every step of our relationship. Through every conversation, every late-night prayer, every moment of growth, and every act of grace, we became more certain that God was writing something beautiful. It’s not our timing, it’s His. Our relationship is rooted in our shared faith. We are committed to loving each other with respect, patience, forgiveness, gentleness, and faithfulness for the rest of our lives. We truly believe marriage is one of God’s greatest gifts, and we are incredibly thankful that He chose our paths to meet when they did.
