We believe that the Eucharist is truly the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. As Scripture says, “The cup of blessing that we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread that we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?” (1 Corinthians 10:16). Because of this profound reality, we approach the Sacrament with the utmost reverence. For this reason, only baptized Catholics who are in a state of grace may receive Holy Communion. Receiving the Eucharist is not merely a personal act of devotion, but a public affirmation of full communion with the teachings and life of the Catholic Church. As St. Paul warns, “Whoever, therefore, eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning the body and blood of the Lord” (1 Corinthians 11:27). This teaching is not meant to exclude anyone from a relationship with Christ, but to honor the sacredness of the Eucharist and the unity it expresses. All are invited to seek a deeper union with Christ and His Church, and we welcome any steps in that journey. Holy Communion will be offered at the altar rails. Kneeling is encouraged, but not required, especially if you are unable. For those of you who will not be receiving the Eucharist, we encourage you to make an Act of Spiritual Communion. A prayer for this will be provided in the wedding Mass booklet.
The dress code for our wedding is black-tie optional. This means you're welcome to wear a tuxedo or a formal gown, but a suit with a tie or a cocktail dress would also be appropriate. Since our ceremony will be a Catholic Mass, we kindly ask all guests to choose attire that is modest and respectful for a sacred religious service. We appreciate your understanding and thoughtfulness in dressing for our joyous celebration.
Our Wedding Mass will be celebrated in the UPPER CHURCH — the one with lots of steps. There is a large statue of Our Lady of Częstochowa above the main doors. If you need an elevator, there is one inside the building under the steps to the right (near the Candle Chapel).
Yes! We encourage everyone to have a good time celebrating, but please avoid drinking & driving (and drunkenness in general).
