Josh and I met in May 2011, when I was living in Virginia Beach working my first internship. His family was friends with the family that took me in, and they lived down the street from one another. During my first week in Virginia Beach, I attended the local high school band concert where Josh's sister was performing. We were briefly introduced while I held a giant band-gifted-fern. After the concert he sent me a friend request and message on Facebook inviting me to a BBQ. I had to work and couldn't go, but I thought he was cute and asked for his number! One of the first few times we hung out, he invited me over for a surprise dinner he wanted to make me. I'll never forget walking in the door and his mom said, "you must be very special, he's never done this for anyone before." Fast forward to the end of that summer, he was getting ready to go back to UVA and me to VT, but we decided to give our long distance relationship a shot. The rest is history! From Virginia to California and back, and now 10 years later - we cannot wait to celebrate our commitment to one another. Note from Josh: I still find every excuse to make my soul mate the most delicious meals, and bonus points for any time I get to make her laugh.
