Semi-formal! This means no jeans or golf shirts, please. Guys, we don't expect everyone in a tux, but a shirt and tie would fit perfectly!
No need! There is only one menu selection being served for all kids.
Oh, yes.
No. There will be music but no dance floor! We are having a very small wedding in a small venue room at the Inn and will have our solo first dance on the wrap-around patio overlooking the bay. We will have a short ceremony followed by a cocktail hour, toast, plated dinner and cake-cutting. Short, sweet and simple!
Anything goes! We are having a variety of soft colors including greens, whites, dusty rose, mauve, pale blue and dusty purple. My Maid of Honor will be in a dusty blue dress and I'll have a single burgundy flower in my bouquet to compliment my mother's dress.
We understand that most of our guests are traveling to be with us for our big day and also do not expect anyone to transport gifts. We are putting all of our belongings in storage before we travel to Maine and will be leaving for Paris two days after our wedding, and will be "living" in Europe for at least two months, so we do not have a location to store gifts and would therefore request cash or gift certificates from anyone who wishes to give!
No. Our guests have a variety of travel plans and budgets so we have not yet opted to block off rooms. Once we get back our RSVPs, we may consider doing this. Stay tuned!
Please reach out to us if you'd like to bring a guest and we will see what we can do! Our venue seats 48 people and is an intimate affair.
The Inn has a back-up room for this, which I have not seen. Prayers are appreciated!
So far, we have reserved one AirB&B in Southwest Harbor for Josh's family and my family will likely stay nearby.
You can, but a car would be much easier. There are bus options with Concord Coach and Greyhound from Boston or Portland to Bangor, and you can leave from Bangor to Bar Harbor with Downeast Transportation. Check out this site for details: http://www.exploreacadia.com/portland.htm
Yes! There are several boat tours that leave from Bar Harbor and we hope everyone and the dads can join us for a tour on Sunday after brunch! If you'd like to join, please let us know as we will be reserving spots soon. See the schedule for details.
