While working together at the Children’s Museum of the Arts in lower Manhattan, Rachel and Josh noticed each other. Creating art projects and programs for kids was the perfect environment to build a natural connection. Josh noticed that Rachel was smart, outgoing, and compassionate. Rachel noticed Josh’s kindness, humor, and creativity. Both noticed how cute the other was! :) Rachel started going out of her way to stop by and talk to Josh while he was setting up art projects in the gallery. One night, after leaving work at the same time, a long, meandering walk to the train led instead to beers and karaoke in the West Village, followed by banh mis on Bleecker Street. That night, we both had other places to be, but lost track of time getting to know each other instead. We kept our budding romance a secret until a few short months later when the museum - and all of New York - shut down in March 2020. Even though our worlds had completely changed, we continued seeing each other, hanging out in Prospect Park for long walks and picnic dates. The pandemic accelerated how quickly we got to know each other, eventually leading us to seek refuge and define the relationship during a trip to Lake Ontario. We’re so excited to get married in Rachel’s hometown of Pittsburgh at a children’s museum that pays homage to where we first met. We can’t wait to celebrate with you in April!
