We had known of each other for more than 13 years but had never spoken. We went to the same church, attended church camps, and shared many mutual friends, yet we never actually met. Looking back, we’ve even found old group photos from camp where we appear in the same picture, just on opposite ends. It was the Kenyan community that initially brought us together through various gatherings.

We officially met in November 2022 at a Friendsgiving party. Zoe decided last minute to attend, but that small decision changed our lives forever. We didn't speak for most of the evening, until Josh sat next to Zoe on the rooftop overlooking Downtown LA. From that moment, we hit it off instantly, “catching up” as if we had known each other for years, even though it was the very first time we talked. It felt as if no one else was around. When we said our goodbyes that night, we didn’t exchange any contact information, but we both felt a quiet certainty that we would see each other again. A few days later, Zoe received a follow request from Josh on Instagram.

Two months after that first meeting, we were pleasantly surprised to see each other again at another event. The conversation flowed as if no time had passed, filled with even more smiles and laughter. As Zoe was leaving, Josh offered to follow her home to make sure she arrived safely, and once they reached LA, he then asked for her number. A week later, Josh asked Zoe on a date, and the rest is history! From that point on, we have been inseparable, with countless little signs reminding us that we were meant to be together. Josh’s favorite number is 7, and Zoe’s is 4. Once we discovered that, we began noticing 74 and 47 everywhere, and those numbers quickly became ours. A year into our relationship, we realized that our birthdays are 74 days apart and that we were both born on Thursdays. Beyond these signs, our love and friendship continue to grow every single day. Now, three years later, we are still in awe of how beautifully God has orchestrated our story.

When it came to planning our wedding, we knew that a Thursday in the 11th month of the year would be perfect. As we look toward our future, we are excited to bring together the many communities that have shaped our lives in such meaningful ways.
