We're getting married!

Josh and I have been together for 2.5 years come the engagement and 3 years come the wedding. We met because of a student ministry called Cru, at Texas Tech. We were friends for 2 years before we started dating and it has just been the sweetest relationship, if I do say so myself. We started dating after going to a music festival together in the summer of 2019 (Rock the desert, to see a band called Fit for a King). This festival was in Midland so we spent the entire 2.5 hour drive back to Lubbock just talking and realizing, oh we want to be more than friends. Like a month later we go on our first date to the Lubbock County fair. Fast forward 2.5 years and here we are about to see Fit for a King again for the first time since rock the desert. Josh had told me he wanted to propose, but was very adamant that while he was writing his master's thesis it would not happen. So, here we are March 4th about to go see this concert and Josh asks if we can do a picnic in Tech Terrace park (during COVID we did a ton of picnics there) and in my mind I thought this is cute, okay, nothing strange. We get chick-fil-a, a staple in our relationship, and I'm wearing sunglasses instead of my glasses so I am blind and without a care in the world. Low and behold, Josh has planned to propose with the help of our friend Ethan, who I had talked to before, but never met in person so I didn't know what he looked like. He planned it with my friend Paige, to do my nails the night before, which was under the guise of her practicing. And I should have known something was up when Josh asked a stranger to take our picture (and he never does that!). Then he takes both of my hands while Ethan ran over and took Josh's phone to secretly record us. Before I knew it, Josh was on one knee. I was in shock because he had made me fully believe that it wasn't happening until after his thesis and not in the middle of it. So it was really sweet that we got engaged with Fit for a King in the background because they are the reason we got together in the first place. This is our love story!
