We started our adventure together on September 1st, 2011 at a Bart Crow concert in Manhattan, KS. Two days after the concert Josh planned a BBQ on Labor Day weekend for the sole purpose of having a reason to invite me over. I showed up with my famous mashed potatoes in hand and we had a great time. Our first date was a week later at AJ's Pizza where we spent a beautiful fall evening drinking beer talking about life - our goals, our dreams, our aspirations. We soon found out we had more in common than anyone probably expected. When we first met, I was still in the early part of my veterinary education and spent most of those first few years studying and going to class. Josh was working for Verizon, soaking up the red dirt concert scene in Manhattan and cooking the most amazing meals for me during my study breaks (with the help of Strunk, of course). He always joked I was the best fed vet student and I would have to agree. Over the past 6 years we have faced many changes and challenges together including vet school graduation, moving across the country, career changes and purchasing our first home. We push each other every day and find happiness in helping each other strive to be the best we can be. As we take this next step on our journey together we look forward continuing to grow, both as individuals and as a couple, and we will continue to face the future hand-in-hand knowing that no matter what life throws at it us we have each other to lean on.
