The Proposal

April 14, 2018 We had made plans to watch my cousin, Addison, play in a basketball tournament that afternoon and then to the cabin to see the family. After getting ready, I was impatiently waiting for Josh to come pick me up, because I was hungry and wanting to grab a bite to eat before heading to the basketball gym. He was taking longer than usual (Little did I know, he was secretly with my mom planning every detail for the big moment). Anyone who knows me, knows that I am the most impatient person. I was blowing his phone up asking where he was and when he was going to be my house. Finally, he showed up and he was stalling, trying to watch the end of a basketball game on tv (which he never really cares for). After over an hour or so, I drug him out of the house. We ate and watched Addison’s first game, and by that time I was ready to go to the cabin. When we arrived, Mom, Julie, and Jacob were “cleaning up our cabin because something got inside and tore it up”. Suspiciously, my grandparents showed up even though Addison still had more games to play. Jacob and Julie came back and asked if Josh and I wanted to go finish helping mom. As we were walking, Christmas lights around the front porch came on. Pictures of Josh and me hanging everywhere. At first I was a little confused and had no idea what was going on. We walked onto the porch, Josh got on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. Without hesitation of course I said “YES”. Looking up we were surrounded by my family and my best friend. To this day, the best moment of my life ❤️
