Josh and Morgan met on a summer night in June 2022. Their first kiss shared in the parking lot of a miniature golf course after a deep conversation over books, music, flowers, writing, and the intersections of the roots they shared in the rolling hills of Central Pennsylvania. The kiss occurred as the lights were switched off and the stars were in clear view. A few short months into their relationship, when Morgan was meeting the majority of Josh's college friends during a weekend in the Laurel Highlands, Josh's mother, Marcia, sent Josh a photo of Dalma Nicholson-London, Morgan’s grandmother, in a booth at Buck's Pizza in Clearfield, PA. Marcia and Dalma had spent many Saturdays together unknowing that one day their families would be forever bonded. With the writing clearly evident on the walls and in Josh’s journal, an invite was extended and Josh made the effort to meet Morgan's parents during one of their epic national park vacations. Something in the Orange during that trip lead Josh to say "I love you" for the first time. After Morgan repeated the same words to him they began to plan and build their lives together. In January 2023 the two star-crossed lovers rolled up their sleeves and began projects on Josh's farmhouse in Cranberry Township, PA. After months of tearing down wallpaper, painting, sanding floors, and spackling wood paneling, the house looked more like a modern home and was waiting with open arms for Morgan’s extensive collection of books, records, plants, and of course, love. The Spring and early Summer of 2023 brought the couple a series of deep losses of loved ones, first Josh’s mother Marcia, and nine days later his grandmother Eleanor, and, only a few weeks later Morgan’s grandmother Dalma. It was through these hardships that they were able to witness the strength they each held and the love they were capable of for each other, their community, and the friends that showed up to help put them pieces back together. In short order Morgan (and Morrison cat) found tenants to live in her home in Carnegie. Morgan found herself quickly acclimating to the rigorous responsibilities of beet harvesting and the enjoyment of reaping the delicious rewards. As winter drew near, so did the couple’s aspirations to welcome a dog onto their acre-and-a-half property. In November of 2023 they brought home a Bernese Mountain Dog puppy with aspirations of internet fame, naming him after two of the most iconic writers of our time, Hemingway Fitzgerald. As the new year rolled in, Morgan did as she does each year and laid out a monthly tarot card spread. In March, she pulled the Owl card. Which read: the pet of the princess Lakshmi, often brining gifts and shiny objects. Josh raised an eyebrow and commented that there would be something shiny in her future very soon. On a Saturday morning in March of 2024, Josh woke up with a pep in his step and VERY excited to make sweet potato pancakes... or so Morgan thought. After breakfast, during coffee and conversation as they do most weekends at their dining room table, Josh asked Morgan to record a video of one of his poems that was to be entered in a poetry contest. Unknowingly, and excited to support his burgeoning writing career, Morgan jumped into marketing mode making the shot look perfect, turning around a mug of coffee to face the video that read: "Let The Adventure Begin" as Josh started to read the one-minute and seven second poem. As he got to the fourth stanza, he drew a small, wooden box out of his worn-down, flannel jacket pocket, got down on one knee, and proposed. Which brings the story to the present day, still in love as they deeply as they fell under the orange sunset sky in Yellowstone in the Autumn of 2022. Preparing for nuptials this May 2025 at one of their favorite places in the city: the lovely garden at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens.
