How We Met

We have a couple of friends (shout out to Dan and Alicia) that were trying to set us up. We were invited to their home for a fire, and Josh had no clue what was taking place. Nothing happened that night because Josh was pretty oblivious to what was supposed to be happening. A week later Molly was in New York on vacation with Alicia. Alicia decided to be blunt and asked Josh "soooo what do you think about Molly?" His response was "She's pretty cute!" That night we started chatting and a week later went on our first date... 10/14/2018 (remember that date.)

The Engagement

Josh knew Molly was more than ready to get married because of her not so subtle hints. One weekend while Molly was working Josh decided to go visit his high school teacher at Doland Jewelers and look at engagement rings. Josh knew that it was important to ask permission from Molly's parents first, so he stopped at their house before heading to Doland's. Penny knew what was going on immediately, Dan was still a little confused about why Josh stopped by without Molly. When Josh asked for permission, Dan spilled his coffee from excitement and Penny's response was "are you sure you want to marry her, she's a Murphy and thinks she's always right?" He received their blessing and went to pick out a ring. Then went back a few days later and changed his mind and picked out another ring. Josh asked Molly if she wanted to go out for their anniversary to her favorite restaurant (Three Mile House) on October 15th, a day after their anniversary because they weren't open on their actual anniversary. He said "should we see if your parents want to come along since they love it there also?" We had a great dinner with a couple old fashions of course and then the waitress brought our check. All of a sudden Josh mentioned that he wanted to "make me a part of his family" and got down on one knee. After Molly said "of course" we turned around and Meghan (Molly's sister) and Emily (Meghan's bestie) were there recording the whole thing! Josh said he knew it was important to Molly to have her family around for the event, but knew that if Meghan was in town on a random Tuesday, Molly would become suspicious. So Josh and Meghan coordinated with the Three Mile House to have Meghan and Emily sit in a separate area of the restaurant before the proposal. Josh's parents ended up coming into the restaurant after the proposal took place as well to help us celebrate! 10/15/2019
