The architecture tour is the most highly recommended thing to do in Chicago for a reason! If there is one thing you are going to do while here, we would say this should be it. Although the docent won’t point it out, make sure to look for the spot on the riverwalk where Josh proposed to Marigny at the confluence of the North and South branches of the River.
We have embraced the White Sox as “our” baseball team upon our move to Chicago. The Cleveland Guardians will be in town the weekend of the wedding, and it is always a great time catching a baseball game at Rate Field! The concessions are top notch.
Mario’s Italian Lemonade is THE summer treat in Chicago. If you want The Josh, order a half banana - half strawberry, and if you want The Marigny, order straight POG (trust me). The line may look long, but it moves very quickly.
If you’re looking to do some shopping in town, the Mag Mile is for you. And if you have a little one at home (or want to take a stroll down memory lane), you won’t want to miss the American Girl store in the Hancock building.
While it was dark and cold the night Josh proposed on the Chicago Riverwalk, you will be in town for the ideal Riverwalk weather! The Riverwalk is home to a number of restaurants and bars, perfect for people watching and boat watching. Also a great place to read a book or grab Marigny’s favorite soft serve (look for the truck next to the Northman Beer & Cider Garden).
On Saturday morning, from 9 am to 1 pm, the Printer’s Row Farmer’s Market brings together vendors with lots of tasty breakfast and brunch treats! If you’re utilizing the room block at The Hilton, the farmer’s market is less than a ten minute walk from the hotel. You will also find numerous coffee shops adjacent to the market.
