Josh picked Juli up from her mom's house where she was staying for the summer while in grad school, and we headed to the Frisco Barroom for brunch and Aperol spritzes.
After brunch, we went to Cherokee street, which has great antiquing and thrifting, and fantastic Mexican restaurants. Mudhouse coffee, Flowers & Weeds, Mesa Home, and La Vallesana are some of our favorite spots on Cherokee.
After walking around Cherokee, we decided to go to a museum. Somehow, we landed on Laclede's Wax Museum (we're so glad we did). Don't expect any frills - it smells like stale cigarettes and the wax figures are downright spooky, but we can guarantee lots of laughs if you go into it with an open mind and good sense of humor.
After the wax museum, we spent some time walking around the Riverfront and the Gateway Arch National Park, which is super close to Laclede's Landing.
We were a little hungry after our very busy afternoon exploring downtown, so we went for dinner at Chimichanga's. Jules recommends the frozen banana margarita.
Clearly we were having a great time and didn't want this date to end! Our last stop on our very first date was 4 Hands Brewing and Tasting Room in Soulard. Head upstairs for skeeball and other old-style arcade games!
