Josh and Jess met 13 years ago, on a livestream of Jess playing Batman: Arkham Asylum. Weird meet-cute, sorry! They were both fans of each others' work: high-effort, edited Let's Play videos (walkthroughs of videogames with entertaining commentary, if you don't know.) This started a collaborative relationship that would evolve into... something more?! What originally started as an online friendship slowly grew over time until, in 2013 (during the Mystery Science Theater Turkey Day marathon,) they realized that they were already practically dating. Jess was in Staten Island and Josh was in Michigan, and it didn't take long until they realized that long distance relationships suck. So, shortly after Josh got his first job in the video game industry in Illinois, Jess moved in with him. While this reception is to formally celebrate their marriage, they've already been married for a year. And to be honest, they were acting like a married couple for years before that. It's all been a bit of a subtle gradation from one stage of their relationship to the next, so let's make it official with all of you, this October 6, 2024!
