Jaycie and Josh met while they were both attending the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 2014. Josh had just transferred back to Nebraksa to go to school, while Jaycie was currently attending and playing soccer for the Huskers. Jaycie and Josh met through mutual friends, and knew instantly that they had a connection. Through out the years, their friendship grew into them becoming best friends. From Jaycie and Josh dating other people, the main constant in their lives was always each other. Josh was a patient man with embracing Jaycie and her soccer career taking off. Even with her spending time on each coast from North Carolina to Seattle playing, the constant still remained as they continued to grow closer. The changing moment in this friendship that took it to the next level was when Jaycie tore her ACL for the third time. Right after surgery when she woke up she only wanted to talk to Josh. That was when Jaycie knew Josh was the one for her. The couple would start dating December 30, 2019 and the rest is history.
Josh had been planning on how to propose to Jaycie for months. It took him a little bit of time to finally ask both of Jaycie's dads before he finally popped the question ;) Jaycie had been wanting to go see Christmas lights at KC Wine Co in December. She had planned a date night with her best friend Morgan and her boyfriend Jeremy for everyone to spend a Friday evening on this fun Christmas adventure. Little did Jaycie know, Josh had also been doing some planning with the help of Morgan and Jeremy after Jaycie had come up with the idea for the date night. They got to KC Wine Co and the group had gotten a couple of drinks before they started the walk through the Christmas lights. They started their walk through the lights, and found one of the big light tunnels that had a huge snowflake at the beginning that acted as a mistletoe. Josh and Jaycie stopped and posed under the snow flake to take a photo. Little did Jaycie know she was about to get proposed too. Josh got down on one knee and said "You are my best friend in the world. I do not want to spend another day without you by my side. Will you Marry Me?" Jaycie cried, dropped down to her knees and hugged her fiancé! She said YES!
