We’re getting married!

With the unexpectedness of COVID-19 and the stay at home orders extended to May 4th already, we’ve decided to postpone the wedding. There are more details to come, which will be updated on this website. What to expect: You will recieve an updated invitation and will go through the RSVP process again. We will also likely be at a new venue, and will definitely have a new date. When? We will have to find a new venue as well as a new date, so we’re not quite sure right now. Of course we will try to give folks, and ourselves, adequate time to reconfigure schedules. We’ll keep you posted as we continue to learn more and make new decisions. ************* As we continue to plan we will continue to update this site with information, so be sure to check back. We met at Bishops, a dive bar in Kirkland one evening in the fall of 2016. I was reading a book at the bar and Josh was hanging out with friends, a pretty standard evening for each of us. Going against the WA freeze, Josh came over to invite me to come hang out. I moved over and sat down next to him at the bar. We started talking, and talking, and didn't finish talking for hours. The next few times we spent time together, we talked and talked for hours as well. At that point, I think both of us knew there was something there.

Josh popped the question after we were together for a year. He had been carrying the ring around with him for a while, trying to find the right moment. After (apparently!) a few foiled tries, it felt right during one evening at home. We were watching a thunderstorm from the big window in our apartment, talking about us and how happy we were, and he got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I, being myself, was surprised, excited and taken aback, and, of course, had to ask his question back to him to make sure I was hearing him right!

After getting engaged, our lives took us down a long and winding road. Lots of life challenges came our way and we got through them all together, growing with each other to create the life we want and coming out stronger together on the other side. We are excited to set a date and plan our wedding day and hope you will come join us for the celebration.
