Faith moved to Rickman TN at the tail end of our sophomore year of highschool, but did not start to Livingston Academy until Junior year. According to Josh, he had seen me in the hallway but felt to shy to approach me. So an entire year later, Faith and Josh had classes that happened to be on the same hall. And at a certain part of the day, they would pass by each other on their way to their next class. Josh finally reached out to Faith- and the rest is history. Our first date was to see the movie Jungle Book and dinner at Olive Garden. Even though our colleges were about 35 minutes for each other, we still made the time to meet up when we could.
Josh and I got really into hiking during the summer. I think COVID had something to do with this. Anyway, we planned this specific hiking trip on a whim. We decided that we were going to car camp in the nearest walmart parking lot and then head to a section of the Appalachian trail first thing the next morning. And we did. The hike was 8 miles in total. Four to the top, four back. The hike was called “Charlies Bunion” referring to the glorious view at the very end of our hike. A huge rock protruding towards the sky, with a fall of hundreds of feet down. Josh acted like he was going to take a few pictures of us, but it turns out, he had the camera filming a video instead. He got behind me, and told me to do a bunch of funny poses and then had me turn around. And there he was with my absolute dream engagement ring. It was perfect.
