2020 was the year they met. It will be a year they will always remember because not only is the year they met but it was also the year that a global pandemic was announced around the world. Due to the new circumstances of Covid-19, being social became strategic and this is how the story of them meeting unfolded. On Memorial Day weekend, one of their mutual friends, Hallie, invited Dani to celebrate the day at the beach with her friends in Melbourne, Florida. Though it took some convincing, Dani showed up to the beach and parked at Josh’s home. As soon as Dani arrived to the beach, she asked Hallie who had been the person who allowed everyone to park at their house and Hallie pointed to Josh. Dani, being the social butterfly she is, immediately went up to Josh to thank him for allowing her to park at his house and as a normal Colombian reached over to touch Josh on the shoulder as a form of appreciation but before she could finish saying “Thank you,” Josh said “Why are you touching me?” To which Dani chuckled and continued to thank him. (He claims it was social distancing) Though Dani was a bit shocked by Josh’s response, she quickly became friends with him during a “Beersbie” game. During the game, they joked, made fun conversations, and discovered that they made a pretty good team. After the game, they took a walk on the beach and later had dinner with friends. This day marked the beginning of their friendship and their friendly “hangouts” gradually transitioned into romantic dates. Fast forward four months to September 6th, 2020, during what they jokingly referred to as a "friends road trip," Josh asked Dani to be his girlfriend. From that point on, their relationship continued to grow and evolve. Since they started dating, they’ve navigated through several significant milestones, including welcoming a furry addition to their family (Milo), changing jobs, and embarking on adventures that have taken them around the world. Finally, on December 16th, 2022, Josh proposed to Dani on the very same beach where their journey had begun.
