On a Wednesday in early 2024, Christyn was home sick from work when she received a text from one of her best friends from college that simply read: “I just had a revelation.” Bri explained that she had a dream the night before that she was back at MTSU in Murfreesboro. In that dream, Josh and Christyn were dating. Here’s the catch: Bri and Josh went to high school together but hadn’t spoken in years. Josh and Christyn both lived in Knoxville but had never met. Luckily, Bri still had Josh’s number and decided to trust her dream and play matchmaker. Josh reached out to Christyn, but she didn’t respond until the next day. Their first date was at Josh’s favorite restaurant, Soccer Taco. Immediately, they clicked. Christyn had plans afterward, but the date went so well that she invited Josh along to hang out with friends at Rooster's Bar & Grill. To Josh's surprise, "some friends" meant 20+ of her WVLT coworkers. Thankfully, he survived! They officially started dating on April 27, 2024, and quickly learned they were pretty great at doing life together. From beach trips and baseball games to tough times, career changes, raising two cats and everything in between, they discovered they could do anything as long as they're together. On December 13, 2025, Josh popped the question, and Christyn said yes! Now they can’t wait to say “I do” on April 24, 2027, and celebrate the dream that turned into forever.
