Even though it seems like yesterday, our story started 10 years ago, in the summer of 2009. Middle school was just around the corner; Josh & I were both attending 7th grade orientation. After a few run-ins at (now maid of honor) Kaley's birthday parties, I knew OF the "Boy Boy's" -- Josh & his twin brother, Jordan -- but I didn't KNOW them. After a few days at orientation, I heard Josh had a crush on me. When I found out, my 12 year old self panicked... so I decided to avoid them both since I couldn't tell them apart LOL. Fast forward to the 1st day of 7th grade: My mom had Josh in class. Before class was over Josh made his way to my mom's desk & said "I'm going to be your son-in-law one day!" In total shock, my mom just laughed & told him to go sit down. On our way home from school, she told me what Josh said... needless to say I turned up my twin avoiding abilities to level 10! LOL I managed to keep my distance from Josh until February of the next year... Valentine's Day to be exact. After school, I came home to find roses & a card on my porch. I carried them in, sat them down, & went to my room to change clothes. Then my mom yells "BRE GET IN HERE!" I run to the kitchen & she hands me the card. I opened it & almost passed out... "WILL YOU BE MY GIRLFRIEND? CHECK YES OR NO -JOSH JACKSON" I freaked out! "No I will not be his girlfriend!? And how does this weirdo know where I live?!" To which my mom said, "It took a lot of nerve for him to do that, you're going to call him & say yes. You don't have to marry him, just be his girlfriend for a while." So, I reluctantly called Josh & told him "yes." We dated for a few months & I really started to like him; but I broke up with him right before summer break (still to this day, I don't know what my reason was). We got back together & broke up a few times over the next 2 years. But sophomore year of high school, we made our way back to each other, & have been inseparable ever since. The rest is history! -Breanna
In the summer of 2017 I received a scholarship to study abroad! Josh & I decided that at the end of my program he could fly over to "pick me up" & we'd spend a week traveling! I found the perfect program at a school in Florence, Italy, applied & found out I got accepted a few weeks later! Now it was time for the fun stuff... planning mine & Josh's trip! We both FELL IN LOVE with Greece & decided that’s where we should go! Fast forward to the summer of 2018: I went to Italy & had the experience of a LIFETIME. Little did I know, the best part of my trip was yet to come. Josh flew into Rome, & rode a train to Florence where I met him! There were lots of hugs & tears shed in the train station… being 5,000 miles apart for 5 weeks is ROUGH! We hopped a few trains & planes, traveled to Athens, then Crete, & finally Santorini. At the end of our 1st night, Josh told me that we had dinner reservations for the next day in the infamous city of Thira! I didn't think much of it... he's typically pretty thoughtful, so I assumed he just wanted to make the last night of our trip special! The next day rolled around, & Josh told me that we were being picked up for dinner & the restaurant was nice, so to dress accordingly. A taxi showed up at our hotel, we rode to the restaurant & were dropped off. We were greeted by a host who said our table was at the bottom of the steps. Before we headed down, Josh handed me a blind fold, grinned ear to ear, & said "Put this on, I've got a surprise for you." Immediately my heart started POUNDING, but I put it on & he led me down the steps. When we got to the bottom, I took off my blindfold... HE WAS DOWN ON ONE KNEE! I burst into tears & tackled him with a bear hug, then he put the most GORGEOUS ring on my finger. After soaking in the moment, we had dinner & took pictures in front of the prettiest landscape ever. It was seriously the BEST day of my life. Josh made everything perfect & now I officially get married to my best friend! -Breanna
