RECENT UPDATES

As of July 1st, 2020

At this point we do not believe COVID-19 cases will be down to a reasonable amount to have a large gathering for our wedding. That being said, we will be marrying on September 5th, 2020 at Riverstone Amphitheatre with family and close friends. If you would like to attend we would encourage social distancing or masks. Next year we will be holding a celebration for our marriage that we would love to share with you in place of our reception this year. We will update everyone as soon as we know more. We hope everyone stays safe and healthy during these unprecedented times.

A Rose in Cement

Started in Treatment, Now We're Here!

Our atypical love story began on the most typical of winter days: a brisk Monday evening in November of 2015. For Brandi (who had just gave birth to the notorious Niko Ryan only a month before), it was business as usual. Her mother, Jocelyn Irons, was driving Brandi to intensive outpatient classes at ACES, located across the street from Goodwill off of 4th street in an unsightly puke-green building. This ugly-at-best building would become one of the most important locations in either of our two lovers' lives: the place they first met as well as the location that propelled their love story forward to the place it is today. That Monday night, Joshua was fresh out of rehab and being driven by his parents to his first outpatient class. He was at a point in his life where finding love was the last thing on his mind, conversely Brandi shared a similar mindset. Neither of the lovebirds was seeking love, yet love is all they found that evening, or perhaps the beginning of it, at least. Love at first sight is pleasant in fairy-tales, but the concept's relevance dies there. Brandi and Joshua did not fall in love immediately, however they left some lasting impressions. Over the weeks the two began to nurture a genuine bond. The first hug they shared outside that eye-sore-of-a-building while saying goodbyes was nothing short of electric. Both Josh and Brandi confess that that first embrace made them feel weightless, it was as if each other's arms was the most familiar place they had ever felt. The cold deepened and the days turned to months. To Josh's horror, Brandi was nearly complete with the class! Concerned, he fretted to her, telling her how horrendous life would be once she graduated, and that he was going to miss her. "I'm finishing DBT, Josh, it's not like I'm moving out of town" she laughed, her ocean blue eyes shining with an affection her words were not yet capable of articulating. Thus, the end of her classes was only the beginning.
