Josh and Berkley met in August of 2019 when they were residing on the same floor of their dorm at school. Josh says he first met Berkley when a bunch of his friends went to play indoor soccer before the semester had officially started. He says they talked the entire walk back to their floor from the gym but Berkley doesn't remember that conversation. Josh would tell you that he always had an eye for Berkley but if you ask her, it was not love at first meeting. They didn't talk much to each other again until one day over Thanksgiving break that fall when Berkley commented on Josh's picture of his dog and asked what kind of dog she was. Josh took the opportunity to keep her entertained through messaging back and forth and he never did let the conversation end. Fast forward to the end of winter break, Berkley and Josh had been texting back and forth for probably a solid month by this point. Josh asked Berkley when she would get back to school from break and promptly invited her to church with him the first Sunday of the semester. He then added "I leave by 9:15 but you get up early so that shouldn't be a problem for you." How was she supposed to get out of that? Berkley would say it was the best not-first date ever and she knew she was in for it. From that Sunday on, Josh and Berkley became really close friends and Josh took advantage of Berkley's need for statistics help, just trying to hang out with her every chance he got. Josh eventually asked Berkley how she felt about getting to know each other more and spending more time just the two of them (he was taking his sweeeeeet time asking her on an official date). As they got to know each other, they quickly realized they didn't want to spend any time apart and knew that together they could do more for the Kingdom than they could on their own. Josh and Berkley hope that Christ will be magnified through their marriage.
