The latest update on this matter is that we will now be having a vaccine mandatory event for the wedding day. This does not apply to those still ineligible for the vaccine (children under the age of 12). If you are not able to provide proof of vaccination then we kindly request that we celebrate together at a later date. All of our wedding vendors will be 100% vaccinated. We are still having our ceremony and cocktail hour take place outdoors and a tented reception. Above all we want to make sure that our wedding day is as fun and safe as possible and we will be strictly adhering to the Health and Safety guidelines set by the State of California, Mendocino County, and our venue to ensure that happens. The information surrounding COVID is changing day by day and we'll be doing our best to keep this page updated as we know more.
You will remember how to party.
This part of the California Coast is surprisingly pleasant for this time of year but, with that said, we recommend dressing in warm layers. The ceremony is planned to be outside during the day with (hopefully) some sunshine but could also very well be overcast. As with any wedding, rain is not invited, but may show up anyway. Stiletto-wearers beware, flats are recommended or a heel with more surface area as the ceremony will be in a field. The reception will be in a large tented area with multiple heaters to keep us warm through the evening. Access to the farmhouse at Switzer will be limited to those staying in the house due to COVID protocols and venue restrictions.
If your invitation includes your name plus Guest, then yes. If not, we would still love the pleasure of your company at our event but the venue has a strict guest limit.
There will be parking available in a lot by the venue. Keep your eyes peeled for our signs on the main road, turn off to the left immediately passing the venue and follow the signage into the field for parking. We do want to advise that the roads are cliffside and rather windy, so if you are uncomfortable driving in the dark or if you plan on drinking please know that we have hired a shuttle service for guests from Fort Bragg to Switzer Farm. As the day nears we will send more specific information about pick up and drop off times. The shuttle will be picking up in between the Beachcomber Motel and the Surf and Sand Lodge (sister hotels).
