Avia and Josh met during a BCG welcome weekend at the Woodstock Inn in VT where they were celebrating their internship offers. On the first night, Avia introduced herself at the after party while standing next to Josh during a game of flip cup. Things got a little flirty and the two kept their distances the rest of the night. Avia and Josh continued to run into each other all weekend. Avia helped a lost Josh find his way to breakfast the next morning and they sat together on the bus to the ski mountain. Avia and Josh chatted away during the ride despite Josh’s original intention to nap. That evening they were both seated at the same dinner table where the two shared many looks during a strange dinner conversation. After the weekend, Avia and Josh went their separate ways back to business school at Duke and Dartmouth. They never exchanged numbers and Avia was disappointed when she learned that Josh had decided not to join BCG.

Stars aligned when Avia and Josh matched on a dating app the first week they were back in Boston for their internships. Josh recognized Avia immediately while Avia didn’t realize until after they had matched that they had met already. They both messaged each other at the same time and quickly made plans to get drinks. Avia and Josh went to happy hour at Lookout Rooftop in Seaport for their first date and spent the rest of the night bouncing around the city. Josh asked Avia out again a couple days later where he made dinner for her on the rooftop of his apartment building, and the rest is history!

Avia and Josh were invited to go skiing at their friend Tom’s place in Okemo, VT. They decided to head up on Friday and Josh was very eager to leave at exactly 9am. Despite Avia wanting to sleep in and Josh forgetting to pack all his ski gear, they managed to leave only an hour late. On the road, Avia took a work call and when she hung up she realized they were driving through Woodstock, VT where they had met four years ago. Avia was enthusiastically reminiscing as they approached the Woodstock Inn when Josh suggested that they stop in for lunch. Avia got a little suspicious when Josh stopped to tie his shoe but was so surprised when he actually got down on one knee moments later in front of the Inn. Avia quickly exclaimed yes and half-jokingly reprimanded Josh for not telling her to wear nicer clothes. The two happily spent the night in Woodstock and then continued to celebrate with their friends and family at Okemo. Everyone was so proud of Josh for pulling off the proposal without Avia having any idea!
