We met as summer camp counselors back in 2013, but really hit it off when Ashley was the camp counselor of Josh's brother in 2014. Over the years we crossed paths, seeing each other on campus at BYU, or liking each other's posts on social media. It wasn't until 2023 when we finally reconnected and went on a date (shoutout Hinge). Our first first date (no that's not a typo) was at Don Joaquin's, where we both knew we had something special. We didn't quite get the timing right at the time, but kept in touch off and on over the next year. That's when we went on our second "first date" to In-N-Out. We weren't quite sure if the same connection would be there, but we ended up talking for hours! Josh finally asked Ashley to be his girlfriend on his drive to live in Austin, Texas for the summer, because we all know that the best way to start a great relationship is by doing long distance... not haha. We survived long distance, as well as our first long roadtrip together, a 20 hour drive at the end of Josh's time there. The rest of our 2025 was filled with fun trips to visit family and adventure with friends, BYU sporting events, Ashley teaching Josh to play pickleball (he's a pro now), and continuing to fall in love with each other. The highlight of the year came Thanksgiving weekend with both of our families in Utah, when Josh got down on one knee and proposed, and was very grateful when Ashley said yes! Our 13 year adventure of finding our way to each other and falling in love is best summed up by our girl Taylor Swift: "all along there was some invisible string, tying you to me." ❤️ We're so excited for all the fun and adventure to come, especially all the memories we'll make with you all, our loved ones, on May 30th!
