First comes love, then comes baby, then comes the party!

We actually met at a pretty divey bar! Our friends met a few days earlier and both asked us to tag along on their "date". We both enjoyed a few too many cocktails, don't really remember what we talked about, do remember ordering mozzarella sticks at the diner though! And truly, we've been together ever since.

Well our day started off getting coffee with friends (a loop in Josh's plan!) and then went for a hike at the Wachung Reservation, which happens to be my favorite place. In true Liana fashion I almost said "this would be a great place for you to propose to me!" (clearly I've never been shy about asking for what I want), but I for once kept it to myself. We walked for a little bit around Lake Surprise and I came across some rocks halfway in the water, so naturally I wanted to go jump on them. Before my foot even hit the rock, Josh was pulling me back. I was just about to tell him that I didn't need his help, again, typical Liana being a brat- but when I turned around he was on one knee. Oh, even better? Lilah was in the papoose on his chest! I immediately covered my eyes in disbelief, while Josh said some nice things, "will you marry me?" included! Of course I said yes. Then probably .2 seconds after all of that loveliness, a squirrel jumped into the water and honest to god swam across Lake Surprise. And he made it! Like, this tiny squirrel made it all the way across the lake! I like to think he witnessed the proposal and then felt the need to go find his significant other. Squirrels deserve a happily ever after too, right? I still can't believe that Josh was able to get any of this past me! I like to think that I'm pretty good at picking up on secrets, but maybe I'm not the true crime detective I thought I was? Either way it was one of the most perfect moments of my life. I try and relive it in my brain at least once a week.
