Mateo and I met in a youth retreat when I (the bride) was just 15, about to be 16, years old and he was 19. We would see each other from time to time in different events from our church but never really spoke. We were definitely more acquaintances than anything. We finally started talking on January 14th, 2018 when I was posting pictures of myself on snapchat which he says "caught his attention". From that day, small talk became hours on the phone and we have never skipped a day without talking since! We knew that we liked each other within a week, and we were sure that we needed each other in our lives within 2 weeks of talking! It has been a beautiful story ever since!

I (Josey) have always dreamt of an extravagant proposal because I have always been a "hopeless romantic"! One of my dream proposals happened to be in the Reunion Tower in Dallas and Matt somehow chose to propose there without ever knowing that about me! On a typical Wednesday evening, he surprised me when I arrived to my house where he had my dress and shoes picked out and laid out on my bed so I could get ready for what I thought was going to be a regular romantic date. Little did I know, he had so much more planned than just an ordinary date. When we arrived, I could not believe we were actually going inside! We had a very special dinner with an incredible view of the entire city of Dallas while the sun was setting. Can y'all believe that by that point I still wasn't suspecting anything?! After dinner was over, we visited the Geodeck (observatory) where Matt had a beautiful arrangement of red rose petals that formed a heart and my best friends waiting with a bouquet of sunflowers (my fav!) for me. It was like a scene from a movie! He gave a beautiful speech and got down on one knee while I was saying "OMG! THIS CAN'T BE REAL!" repeatedly! Then he asked the question I only dreamt of hearing "Will you make me the happiest man on earth and marry me?" I shouted YES! Definitely one of the best nights of my life! We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you!
