African Traditional or Dress to Impress (modest elegance). Suggested color: Golden Gold.
Get ready for a vibrant evening of culture, joy, and tradition! Doors open at 6 pm. Our traditional wedding blends the beauty of a Yoruba engagement ceremony with touches of Portuguese heritage. In Yoruba tradition, the groom and his family formally “ask” for the bride’s hand in a lively, symbolic process filled with dancing, prayer, and celebration. Expect meaningful customs, playful moments, and lots of cheering as families unite. Guests are also welcome to partake in the joyful tradition of spraying cash during the ceremony—a beautiful expression of love, honor, and celebration. We’ll also incorporate select Portuguese elements to honor both backgrounds—creating a beautiful fusion of cultures. Dinner will feature authentic Nigerian cuisine, rich in flavor and tradition, followed by a beloved Portuguese dessert: the famous Pastel de Nata. Come ready to celebrate, engage, and enjoy an unforgettable cultural experience!
