We first met in April 2023 when Carter came to Alpha Gamma Delta’s date party, Draft a Date. What started as a fun night quickly grew into something more. From that evening on, golf dates in Marion became our weekly tradition while Carter finished school. At the end of that summer, Carter picked Josie up from the airport after her trip to Texas. He arrived with flowers, her favorite snacks, and told her he loved her. In that moment, Josie knew he would be in her life forever. Golf remained a special part of our story through the fall until Carter graduated in December 2023, and we were finally both at the University of Alabama. One of our favorite memories from that time was visiting Fairhope, Carter’s hometown. On that first trip, he took Josie to one of his favorite spots on the water. Surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation, we carved our initials into the dock, a simple, silly, and sentimental moment that still means so much to us years later. Over the next year, our families became an even bigger part of our journey. Josie brought Carter to Texas to meet her family and join their summer lake trip to Possum Kingdom, where everyone quickly saw how God’s hand was woven into our relationship. Soon after, Josie joined Carter and his family in Montana, where we spent time exploring and making new memories together. Our senior year was filled with cheering on the Tide, dove hunting, trips to Fairhope, date nights, and countless little God wink moments that reminded us our love was built on faith. After graduation, Josie moved to Fairhope, ready for the next chapter together. Not long after, Carter invited her to what she believed was a friend’s engagement party. Beforehand, he suggested going on a walk and even told her what shoes to wear, which made her laugh and realize something was different since, if you know Carter, he is not particular about those details. That walk led us back to the same dock where we had carved our initials years before, and where Carter got down on one knee. In that sweet, quiet moment, we laughed, we cried, and we celebrated. Then came the best surprise of all. The party was not for a friend. It was for us. Our hearts overflowed as we celebrated with our parents, siblings, grandparents, and friends who gathered to honor the beginning of our forever. It was the most perfect night, and we are so excited to begin our life together in Fairhope as husband and wife. We are forever grateful for God’s gift of love and for the future as Mr. and Mrs. Reynolds.
