I first heard about Caleb when my aunt, my bridesmaid Hannah and my cousin were trying to get me a boyfriend. They attended Life Church and said if there was someone at this church for me, it would be Caleb Alcorn. I looked at his Instagram and thought that he was cute, but I knew I would probably never meet him. Well, a few weeks go by and my home church had not reopened because of Covid, and I was ready to go back to in person church. So, I went with my family to Life Church and saw Caleb. He didn't notice me for a few weeks, but I noticed him. I started looking more into him and developed a crush. The first time he and his friends introduced themselves to me, I asked Caleb questions that I already knew the answer to because I stalked him on social media. His friends invited me to an apple orchard and I was able to get to know Caleb better and spend time with him. After that day, my crush turned into a real liking of Caleb. I felt really comfortable around him, and it was really easy to talk to him. We started talking and seeing each other in smaller and smaller groups until our first time just the two of us. We went to the park, and he made me hot chocolate. We were both vulnerable with one another and had a really good conversation that showed the real versions of us. After that night, I really wanted to date Caleb. Like a lot. On Halloween, after a long day of trunk or treat, Caleb told me in the church parking lot that he liked me. Then, on November second, we made it official. I know I have not known Caleb for a long time, but God has never made anything more clear in my life that Caleb is the one I am supposed to marry. This relationship has been unlike anything I have ever experienced. I have learned from Caleb that I never dreamed high enough on what my future husband could be like. God knew what I needed in a partner and sent Caleb to me. His hand has been in every aspect of our relationship, and I can't wait to see what is in store for the two of us.
I remember it like it was yesterday. It was life group weekend and after an amazing service, tables were set up and sign ups were happening! Caleb Bowman (groomsmen) and I were talking as people were looking at the tables. As Caleb started telling a story, my eyes shifted over to the left and for the first time ever, I saw her. It was as if time stood still for a second (as cheesy as that sounds) and I no longer could focus on any words coming from Caleb's mouth. I stopped him mid sentence and said “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, but I need to stop you for a second. Look at that girl over there. She’s so cute.” Caleb, slightly thrown off by the random comment, replied “yeah… she is.” I don't know the exact reason, but I couldn't help but think about this girl. “Should we go talk to her?” Caleb said. Me, overthinking everything replied, “It cant just be us two guys going over there or that will be too obvious.” I took a moment to think and then replied, “Our sisters! Lets get our sisters and then it will be less weird!” We both found our sisters and asked them to come with us to talk to Josephine. We did it, we had our tiny greeting group ready to introduce ourselves. As we started walking toward Josephine, my heart started beating faster and my hands started getting sweaty. She looked stunning. “Hi there! We just wanted to introduce ourselves,” said Amanda, Caleb's sister. We proceeded with our introductions. From that moment on, I knew I had to find a way to get closer to this girl. That turned into three hours in a corn maze, randomly showing up at my mom's small group she was in with the excuse that “I was just taking my dogs on a drive," a drive-in movie where my car died twice, and so much more. Pursuing her has been my favorite thing to do and every day I cannot wait to get to continue pursuing her. God has had his hand on our relationship through out every up and down. I can't wait to start this next chapter with my bestfriend, love of my life, and forever partner.
