Travel Note
Find US-127 North out of Chattanooga. It will climb Signal Mountain and back down. You will continue north. You will be in the Sequatchie Valley. You will go through another town or two, climb up and out of the Sequatchie Valley back up onto the Cumberland Plateau. Continue on 127 through Crossville and over Interstate 40 northward to Clarkrange. Then you will go through a red light in Clarkrange and everything is the same from there. You travel north, still on 127 for roughly 17 miles. Then on the left, the Jordan Motel. After the Jordan Motel about a quarter mile or so turn right on County Road 296 (I think. There are signs to Historic Rugby.) Follow that road 3 miles to the four-way stop in Allardt. Continue straight and you will be on State Highway 52. Follow 52 to Rugby. You will cross over a bridge over the Clear Fork River and come to a T. Highway 52 turns left and will take you into Rugby.
Travel Note
Take Interstate 40 east to exit 300 at Monterey. At the bottom of the exit ramp turn left (north) onto Highway 84. Proceed north on 84 for about 1.2 miles to the center of Monterey to a red light at Highway 62. Turn right (east) on 62 and follow it for approximately 17 miles to its intersection with Highway 127 at Clarkrange. There is a traffic light there. Turn left (north) on 127 for about 16 miles. Watch for Highland Manor Winery on the right and Jordan Motel on the left. About a quarter mile past the motel, turn right onto Highway 296 just before Jamestown. Follow 296 for three miles to Allardt. At the four-way stop in Allardt, proceed straight onto Highway 52 going east for about 13 miles to Rugby. As you approach Rugby, you will cross over a high bridge and come to a dead end at which you will turn left, remaining on Highway 52 into Rugby. Entering Rugby, you will see a dark red sign on the right saying "Entering Rugby, Historic English Colony." After going around two or three bends you will see on the left a large, dark red sign saying "Laurel Dale Cemetery." Turn left immediately and then immediately right into the front yard. The house is at the corner of Highway 52 and Laurel Dale Cemetery Road. A U.S. flag and a Tennessee flag will be flying over the front entrance.
