The outpost of a popular local chain offers handmade gourmet truffles, drinking chocolate & gifts. Best-known for being Obama's favorite chocolate, and he used to hand them out as gifts in the Oval Office! The chocolate-covered salted caramel is their specialty. Fran's is still a family-run business and worth stopping by!

Portland Rose Test Garden
The International Rose Test Garden is a rose garden in Washington Park in Portland, Oregon. There are over 10,000 rose bushes of approximately 650 varieties. It is the oldest official continuously operated public rose test garden in the United States.

Multnomah Falls
An iconic 620-foot cascade. Try to go mid-week to avoid crowds and a fill parking-lot. There is also a paved hike to the top for those who want to explore and see great views of the falls and the Columbia River gorge.
Mount Hood National Forest
The highest mountain in the state of Oregon and a major outdoor recreational site in the Pacific Northwest. Located about 50 miles southeast of Portland, this mountain is visible from the city on a clear day and usually forms the backdrop for the Portland Skyline in postcards and photographs of the city.
Cannon Beach
Cannon Beach is a small coastal city in northwest Oregon about 1-hour drive from Portland. Here you can enjoy sandy beaches while standing tall in the ocean is the iconic Haystack Rock. To the north there are beautiful trails in Ecola State Park offer sweeping views of the ocean, coves and a lighthouse.
