What's the chance of meeting the love of my life at a wine bar 2 blocks from my house? Our story starts at Pali wine bar in Little Italy 1 week before COVID shutdown our world. It was a casual Saturday night in March. My friend Kaila was visiting me from the Bay Area and I decided to take her to Pali wine bar. This wasn’t my first time here; I get free tastings since I was a member so I would go once a month or so. Joseph was working that night and gave us more than a few complimentary tastings and we ended up chatting for 45 minutes until he got pulled into the kitchen to make a charcutterie board. We had already paid and were just about to leave but I wanted to say bye to this outgoing and handsome man that kept refilling my glass. Finally as we put our glasses down joseph walked out of the kitchen and handed me a tasting card reading “joe” and a hardly legible phone number. The next day I texted him and we got a group together to go bowling. When I saw him IT WAS CONFIRMED, it was NOT the 4 glasses of wine talking the night before- he was just as handsome as I remember.
Two days later, Joseph came to my house; brought over TWO bottles of wine (a red and a white), a wine book and made me dinner. That’s when I knew he was a keeper. Little did I know I found the most perfect man and my own private chef who loves to spontaneously come up with delicious new meals without a recipe. After our dinner date we were inseparable thanks to the never-ending quarantine. Joseph compliments me in every way I can imagine. Where I am weak he is strong. I’ve never felt so complete; so loved, protected, needed and relaxed than when I with him. He is such a strong and supportive partner I cannot believe I met someone so perfect for me and I get to spend my life with him.
