We finally get to celebrate!

In a 21st century modern love story, Sara and Joseph met online July 2018. Sara messaged Joseph and he finally replied hours later. They ended up talking late into the night and every day since. We finally met over a month later due to scheduling conflicts and Joseph being sent to Virginia for JAG training. We went "official" in September. Joseph moved to Hays in April 2019 while Sara finished her Master's program. We announced our engagement in May 2019. Joseph began his career with the Hays Police Department that July. In preparation of our future together, we began house shopping. To make the home buying process easier, we got married on paper in a private court house ceremony Oct. 3, 2019 with the plan to have our wedding as planned in March 2020. Life had different plans. Joseph was finally sent to the police academy after being delayed due to a back log of officers. Joseph was going to be at the academy for our wedding. We quickly began working on an alternative date AFTER save the dates had already been sent! We tried to move the wedding to our one year "on paper" anniversary and struggled finding an available venue. Sara soon learned that it was Fort Hays State University's homecoming. So again, we changed the date to November 2020, and then... Covid happened. We put a hold on the wedding to keep our friends and family safe during the pandemic. We also found out in the midst of all of this, we were expecting our daughter Eleanor. She was born December 2020 and our life kept moving forward. 5 years later we decided to finally have our OFFICIAL wedding to celebrate with our friends and family. We couldn't be more excited to get to finally celebrate each other and the life we have built together with all the people we hold dear in our lives. Some of you may not have been on the guest list in 2020, but we are so glad you found your way into our lives these past 5 years. As life gives, it also takes away. Some of our loved ones were lost in the past 5 years. We are sad you don't get to celebrate with us in person, but we know you will be there in spirit. Please FINALLY join us in October to celebrate our last 5 years and the love we have continued to grow.
