FAQs

Question

Are Children Allowed?

Answer

Only named Guests and select plus ones are invited. Due to venue limitations we have restricted allotted un-named plus ones to be long term partners or one child ages 13+. We sincerely apologize for any difficulties this may cause and completely understand if this effects your ability to come.

Question

Who can I bring as my Plus One?

Answer

For some invites I was unsure of either the name of your partner or whether or not you had one so I did not name them but reserved a spot for you to bring someone. This will be noted on your invited. However, due to limited space I ask that this spot is only filled by a long term partner or if your partner cannot make it and you have older children (13+) you may bring one of them with you instead. I trust everyone to be able to judge if their partner meets "long term" or not. I basically just don't want near strangers at the wedding when the spot could have gone to someone who I wanted to invite but didn't have the space. Please feel free to reach out if you have a request for a friend to be your plus one. :) Thank you so much for your understanding!

Question

I don't have a Partner or a Plus One listed in the invited. Can I bring someone?

Answer

I wanted to make sure anyone who is traveling a long ways and will likely not know many people at the wedding have a plus one, however, For some friends if they are: Local, Semi-local (less than 2 hour drive), well acquainted with a large amount on the invite list, and I have never met, or heard about your partner, or if I was aware their you either did not have a partner, or they would be unable to make it, I did not reserve space for a plus one. However do please message me if you would like to bring someone as I may likely end up with room closer when I start getting back RSVPs.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

To Be Determined officially, however RSVP as soon as you can as I will need to make accommodations for the venue the closer to the full invite list there are that RSVP YES

Question

Is the Wedding Indoors or Outdoors?

Answer

Indoors! Burr! It's March! :)

Question

Where can I stay?

Answer

Franklin has some wonderful Bed and Breakfasts as well as Hotels. These will be listed on the travel page. The mansion itself will have limited availability for guests Thursday-Saturday night however we will be giving priority to family and guests who travel. After everyone in one group gets the chance to book, we will offer to the next group. The mansion very well may fill up early in the list and we will not have room for those lower on the list. The order of this will be: Bridal Party and Parents of the Bride and Groom Family who is traveling long distances Close Friends who are traveling long distances Guests Traveling 5+ hours Guests traveling 2+ hours Others

Question

Will there be transport provided from hotel's to the venue?

Answer

As far as I am aware there are not ubers or easily accessible taxi services in Franklin, due to this we will likely be attempting to work out transportation options to those who cannot afford a rental vehicle for their trip or are not bringing their own car. This will be determined at a closer date once we know more about where everyone is staying and who will need assistance

Question

I am flying in. What Airport should I fly to? and will there be transportation?

Answer

Franklin is about 1 hour and 40 minutes from the Pittsburgh International Airport and about 2 hours from the Cleveland Airport. We recommend the Pittsburgh airport as most likely we will not be able to provide transportation from the Cleveland Airport if needed, however if you are renting a vehicle and will not need assistance with transportation you may choose the airport that is more affordable for you. Once we know more about everyone's transportation needs we will work out transportation.

Question

What is Parking at the Venue like?

Answer

Its amazing! The Venue has two parking lots, an upper and lower lot. There will be plenty of space for parking on site. No worries for parking!

Question

Are you having an "unplugged" wedding?

Answer

Our ceremony will be "unplugged" which means we request that phones and cameras are tuned off and put away. We will have a professional photographer and cameras set up for photos and recording. However! Please PLEASE Take lots of photos and videos and use your phone during the reception afterwards or before the ceremony!

Question

Is there a wedding hashtag?

Answer

Yes! nice and easy, #SarahJoey2024 If you don't know, a wedding hashtag is what you use if you post your photos or stories from the wedding on social media. Simply add "#SarahJoey2024" and it will allow us as well as guests to easily find posts from our event and allow us to see all the fun moments you all had at our wedding! This works best on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

Question

What is Franklin like?

Answer

Franklin is a beautiful small town on the Allegheny River and French Creek. There are lots of cool small shops in town and restaurants. The streets in franklin are very old and can get a little confusing at lights if you aren't paying attention to what lane to be in, or if it is a one way or not so when mapping through town take a look at your route rather than just entering in the info and hitting go on your GPS. Parking is free on the weekends in Franklin and most parking meters are not checked regularly on weekdays so parking should be fairly easy. Check out our travel page for more information on the different shops and restaurants.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We care a lot about guest comfortability, however we would really like to have everyone be dressed up and looking good! For the most part we just request no Jeans or T-Shirts, however We are encouraging gowns and suits! This will be in march, and while cocktail dresses are also encouraged and allowed just be aware that the venue likely will also be a bit chilly! The Bride will be traditional in White, and the Bridesmaids will be in pale pinks, so we ask that these colors are avoided when it comes to suits and floor length dresses to help them stand out in pictures. We do also ask that outfits are kept a tad more on the modest side as well. If you have any other questions or concerns about the outfits please feel free to contact us!

Question

What is the weather like in March in Western Pennsylvania?

Answer

Cold! Yes, I know I am sorry but it will most likely be wet and cold. There may even still be snow on the ground. The Venue itself may also lend itself to being a tad chilly, however they have been working on fixing this so as it gets closer I will update to let you know if the venue will run warm or cold. We chose March as the month signified a lot in our relationship including our dating "anniversary" being March 7th. and wanted to keep those dates close. Also it helped us ensuring availability for our venders because who has a wedding in March??? Crazy people like us I guess! Sometimes we are lucky here in PA and we may get hit with an early spell of spring around this time which would likely be 50 degree weather and sunny. Which is still rather cold for those from warmer climates. However, we are pretty much setting out bets on cold and wet and possibly slushy from melty snow. In the past temperatures range from highs of high 40s and lows of mid 30s at this time of year.

Question

What will the reception be like?

Answer

I will be posting the final itinerary closer to the event but as of right now the general plan will be a Cocktail hour in the front part of the mansion while the ceremony room is converted into the reception hall. During this time there will be live music, snacks, and a bar. The wedding Party will likely be getting photos taken and may have requests of certain areas to be temporarily cleared during time. I do also plan on having a game room available with board games and video games, as well as a photobooth type area. Reception will be buffet style in the reception hall with then the buffet and possible a guest table or two (depending on final guest list) being removed to make room for a dance floor. We will do most traditional reception events at this time including speeches and first dances as well as a special performance or two. Then we will open up to dancing with our game room re-opening as well. after some dancing the DJ Music will turn over to Karaoke, which while bride and groom may get priority, this will be open to all guests whether you think you can sing or not! :) We will likely end reception around 10 or 11pm officially.

For all the days along the way
